Correct.. The further distance away you are the flatter the curve/wrap around should be, which increasingly just turns it into just a flatter widescreen that decreases not only your overall letterbox view (with correct FOV settings entered) but also your wrap around "peripheral vision" view to that if they were up closer as well.
